Yes. Indian citizens need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Mizoram. Foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) instead, which takes considerably longer to arrange. We handle the paperwork for every package that includes these states — just share a scanned photo ID and a passport photo for each traveller about ten days before departure.
It depends on the state. October to April covers most of the region comfortably, but Arunachal Pradesh — especially the Tawang and Sela Pass route — is best from March to October, since high passes can close in peak winter. Nagaland's Hornbill Festival runs 1–10 December and is worth timing a trip around specifically. Every destination page on this site lists its own best season.
Guwahati is the main gateway, with the best flight connectivity from anywhere in India. From there, most of our itineraries move by road — Meghalaya and Assam destinations are a few hours' drive, while the Tawang circuit in Arunachal Pradesh and the Sikkim/Darjeeling loop are longer overland journeys. We handle the entire route once you've landed, with one vehicle and driver for the whole trip.
Every package lists exactly what's included and excluded on its own page — typically hotel accommodation, breakfast and dinner, and a private vehicle for the whole itinerary. Airfare or train fare to the starting point, lunch, and personal expenses are usually excluded, and any special permit fees (like Bumla Pass) are called out separately. No surprise add-ons once you're on the trip.

Tell us your dates, budget, and what you actually want to see, and we'll adjust the route, duration, or hotel category to match. Several of our packages also list optional extensions, like an extra day into Meghalaya's West Khasi Hills.
Cancellation terms depend on how close to departure you cancel, since hotels and vehicles are booked ahead on your behalf — earlier cancellations recover a larger share of amounts paid. We share the exact terms that apply at the time of booking, and recommend travel insurance for weather-dependent routes like Tawang and Sela Pass.
Yes, the region is generally very safe, including for solo and women travellers. Standard travel precautions apply as they would anywhere, and our local guides and drivers stay with your group for the entire trip, not just pickup and drop.
Yes — every package includes a private vehicle, not shared transport, for the full duration, with a driver who knows the routes, checkpoints, and permit stops along the way. You're not switching vehicles or drivers mid-trip.
Pickup from your arrival airport or station is part of every package. Just share your flight or train details in advance and our driver will be waiting when you land.
Usually, yes. Mention it while enquiring and we'll quote the extra days or the additional stop as part of your itinerary — several of our multi-state packages are built to extend this way.
